The Supreme Court in Venezuela has ruled that the new National Assembly’s decisions are void unless three banned opposition lawmakers are removed

The Supreme Court in Venezuela has ruled that the new National Assembly’s decisions are void unless three banned opposition lawmakers are removed from office.

The development deepens a power struggle over the opposition’s legislative majority.

The country is entering into political turmoil as the newly-emboldened opposition and President Maduro’s socialist government continue to clash.

Monday’s court decision came as the assembly debated a law that would grant an amnesty to jailed opposition leaders who supporters claim are political prisoners.
