Bomb attacks across Iraq have killed at least 32 people.

The deadliest was a car bomb in a mainly Shi’ite area of Baghdad, which killed 16 people and wounded 48.

Police and medical sources say a suicide attack at a checkpoint in the central town of Tarmiya killed at least six soldiers and one police officer.

In the mainly Kurdish town of Mandali eight people were killed and 16 wounded in a car bomb explosion.

Anbar offensive

Meanwhile police and tribal sources say Iraqi security forces and Sunni tribal fighters have launched an operation to dislodge fighters from the group calling itself Islamic State, (ISIL) and secure a supply route in Anbar province.
