Dramatic claim made on floor of Turkish National Assembly, investigation promised.

A Turkish member of parliament for the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party, Garo Paylan, is to see his allegations of overseas assassinations of government critics officially investigated.

Paylan said he had information of planned hits on Turkish opposition figures abroad, notably in Germany.

"This Turkey-based structure mobilized certain assassins for these killings, in Germany, France and other European countries. I have verified this information from multiple sources, and I passed it on to the Turkish government. I talked with the relevant ministers, and the intelligence sevice. German security units made a statement today and approved this information," he said.

Speaking to euronews Paylan claimed thousands of journalists and academics, who escaped from Turkey after the crackdown following the failed 2016 coup, have now fled Europe faced with the death threats.

"Ministers and members of Turkey's intelligence service thanked me, and said, they will deal with the matter, investigate it...But the problem is this: Turkey is under a very hard political atmosphere and if the government chooses only security policies as the main solution to politics, you surrender to the bureaucracy of security," he insists.

Paylan revealed his claims at a press conference in the Turkish National Assembley and says the Ankara public prosecutor has invited him to be a witness. The government has yet to respond to the allegations.
