A new smartphone application that lets users post anonymous messages to each other has enjoyed a surge in popularity.
Sarahah, which means honesty in Arabic, has around 300 million users and is top of Apple’s download charts in dozens of countries.
The application allows anyone who has a link to your profile to send you a message – anonymously.
Critics say it will lead to increased cyber bullying.
But ZainAlabdin Tawfiq, the Saudi founder of Sahara, says it is a self-development tool that allows people to receive constructive feedback.
Users are not yet able to respond to any criticism, but Sahara says they are looking into the possibility of adding this functionality.
