A burglar made an unsuccessful attempt at a getaway after he became stuck in traffic near Birmingham.

Footage of a burglar’s unsuccessful attempt to make a getaway after he became stuck in traffic near Birmingham, U.K., was released by local police today (July 29).

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, showed Martin Tolan driving a stolen Mini convertible and, after trying to smash past several queuing cars, became trapped in between them.

Police were then able to break the windows of the vehicle with batons and arrested Tolan.

The suspect was sentenced on July 27 and jailed for 9 years and 11 months after admitting to multiple burglaries, dangerous driving, handling stolen goods and theft.
