Williams have signed Canadian teenage rookie Lance Stroll for the 2017 Formula One grand prix season
Canadian rookie Lance Stroll has signed for Williams, with the formula one team hoping he could be the next Jacques Villenueve and return them to title-winning ways.
The 18-year-old has won at every level he’s raced so far, and will be helped by Valtteri Bottas, who takes over from retiring Felipe Massa as lead driver.
“Every situation is different. I don’t want to compare myself to others. For example Max Verstappen came and his team mate was a rookie so you can’t really compare to a team-mate that has many years of experience so we can go all day speaking him versus him, but at the end I’m just going to focus on myself, I know that I’m surrounded by a great team who know how to work with the young drivers,” said Stroll.
Williams currently lie fifth in the constructor’s championship with two races left and have not won a grand prix since 2012. In 2015 the team finished third.
