Police in Pakistan say the leader of the banned Sunni militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has been shot dead.
Malik Ishaq was arrested last week in connection with a series of sectarian killings.

Supporters target convoy
Police say he died when a group of armed supporters tried to liberate him from a police convoy in Punjab province.
Two of his sons also killed, along with 11 others. SIx police officers were injured.
Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
Ishaq was on a US list of global terrorists.
The group he founded, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, was behind some of the most violent recent attacks on Shia Muslims.
The related death toll runs into the hundreds.
