But as Euronews correspondent Anelise Borges found out, many of those who have donned high visibility vests and taken to the streets, feel that he has not even started to address their grievances.
"We are here tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, at Christmas, New Year, in January, February, March, April," one protester vowed.
The yellow vests, or gilets jaunes, as they are known, say the economic situation has left them desperate. Some are jobless, others have work that they say barely allows them to live. They've been joined by pensioners and students, with one common demand: anger at the leadership of Macron.
