Four times World Champions Italy are in grave danger of failing to qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Russia after Sweden beat them on Friday in the first leg of their all-important play-off.
Italy enjoyed around 65 percent possession but lacked any bite in the final third.
The Swedes made them pay with a deflected Jakob Johansson goal in the 61st minute.

It’s now all about the second leg in Milan’s San Siro on Monday night.
And if Italy don’t win, they will miss out on a World Cup for the first time since 1958.
