Thousands protest in the Moroccan captial Rabat in support of anti-corruption protests
Thousands of Moroccans have rallied in the capital Rabat in support of protests in the north of the country against corruption.
Demonstrations have been rocking the northern city of Al Hoceima for months, leading to the arrest of many of those behind the movement.

At the rally in Rabat, one woman said: “We are here today at this national march to say something clearly – we want freedom for political prisoners from Al Hoceima,”
“We want a real democracy. We want active participation for citizens; a parliament that really represents Moroccans. We want to participate in the decisions because today that’s not the case.”
Calls for justice have snow balled into a wider social movement, demanding greater freedoms.
The rally, organized by the country’s most popular Islamist movement, is the largest in the city since unrest followed the 2011 Arab Spring.
