The US Navy released previously classified footage described as showing an Iranian warship firing unguided rockets less than 1,400 metres from one of its vessels in the Straits of Hormuz on December 26.
The footage shows several missiles fired in close proximity of aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman.
Nearby were also the USS Bulkeley, as well as the French frigate FS Provence as they were passing through the straits into the Persian Gulf.
